Reviews

I recently entered three of the four titles in a contest sponsored by Writer's Digest and was could not be more delighted in what the judge had to say. See for yourself!

1) Pieces Of The Past:

"Pieces of the Past by Elizabeth Matson is a riveting story with charming characters who will quickly find their way into the reader's hearts. I like the colorful front cover and the contrasting font of the title. The back cover copy offers just enough information about the story to compel readers to open the book and start reading. The author bio and picture on the back cover are also helpful to give readers another level of connection. I like the way the story starts, with an introduction to the characters through dialogue and interaction. Ms. Matson's love for this setting and era shows in her writing.

This book can be marketed through library author events, historical organizations, and women's groups."

2) The Favor:

"The Favor by Elizabeth Matson is sure to have readers riveted while reading the story and reflective long afterward. The dialogue among the characters comes across realistic and filled with emotion. The scenes transition seamlessly into reflection. The front cover graphic is beautiful, and I love the colors of the frame. The back cover copy provides enough of a hint of the story to compel readers to open the book. I like the author picture and bio because it gives readers someone to relate to. I love having recipes in the back of the book because they offer added value.
This would be an excellent book to market to reading groups and book clubs."

3) Tuffy:

"Tuffy by Elizabeth Matson offers the fruits of her research in a riveting novel set in historical Hawaii. She has created compelling characters who will pull readers into the story, which starts in a good place, with just the amount of back story w/o bogging down into the past. Ms. Matson's strength seems to be dialogue as it shows each character's personality and traits. The author voice is strong w/o disrupting the flow of the story. I didn't notice any glaring technical errors. The front cover of the book is gorgeous, w/ tropical scene depicting the setting. Reader's won't be disappointed."

Now let me here from YOU! =^,,^=

  1. The Favor: Such a wonderful, unique love story! I loved you and hated you while reading it and now I can't wait for a sequel! Some of the writing in this book is, by far, some of the best I've ever read!
Pieces of the Past: Amazing! Can't believe I actually read a book revolving around Civil War history and LOVED IT! The 'appearances' of (ghostly) items and all of the wonderful things he found made the book just page after page of surprises!
